Canadian M1113
Photos by Richard Briggs

Here are some Canadian M113 variants...real ones that is. I
shot these in
Quebec when I lived there The ones on the train cars were
being returned
from 4th CMBG and were photographed at CFB Valcartier, while
the white UN
Lynx was shot at CFB Longpoint in Montreal.
Back in 1990 when Natives squared off against the Quebec
Police and the army
was called in, they staged out of a small South Shore town
called St.
Remy -- and I went to shoot the forces gathered there, since,
living in
Canada, one rarely sees the army in one's own streets. Here
then, are some
photographs of the forces gathered in that far off summer in
Quebec, while
halfway around the world, another army was massing to fight
the first Gulf War.

Here is an M113 that was on display after having sustained mine damage in
Bosnia during peacekeeping operations there. Aside from the damage
sustained by the vehicle, these walkaround pictures give a good idea of some
of the weathering etc endured by these white-painted vehicles in the field.
